While the primary goal is to map the world of Toril, it is my hope that others will use these maps to add their own stories and adventures. Faerun is surrounded by the eastern realm of Kara-Tur, Zakhara – the arabian lands of Al-Qadim, and the empire of Maztica – whose cultures mirror those of the ancient Mayans and Aztecs. Toril is filled with vast regions that make up multiple settings within the D&D universe.
The Forgotten Realms Atlas Project is a cartography venture with the ultimate goal of providing digital maps of every region of Toril for players and DMs to use in their games and creations.
